New York Auto Show

A few weekends ago, we ventured across town to the New York International Auto Show, held at the Javits Center.  Dubbers loves all things “auto,” from playing with his toy cars and trucks, to riding in taxis, to his favorite song, Wheels on the Bus.  It only seemed natural that he would enjoy this new experience, and boy did he ever!  We all had so much fun and adored every minute of watching the excitement he had while running from car to car. All the major car manufacturers showcase both new and existing models where you are free to open...

City Treehouse

We discovered City Treehouse after one of Dubbers’ private therapists suggested we join her and her daughter one particularly hot city-summer Saturday.  Located in Chelsea, this adorable indoor play-space features a novel treehouse, large interactive water table and other rooms to explore and have fun.  The space is very easy for children sensitive to over stimulation, as it provides just the right amount of activity without going overboard. While reservations are required in advance, this is a good thing as they only allow 25 children in the play-space each hour to ensure a fun and safe experience.  Infants and children up to...

Rockets of Awesome

One of my recent discoveries is a new site and clothing brand called, Rockets of Awesome.  I heard about it thru some friends and...

EI: Center Based Programs

Up until Dubbers was two years old, he received all his therapy thru Early Intervention at home.  While in the beginning, this was very convenient and the most appropriate, after about a year and a half I felt like he was ready for a change.  Our Service Coordinator had mentioned Center-based programs when Dubbers was much younger, and I brushed this idea off; however, as we neared his second birthday I came to the realization a typical “2’s” program was just not going to work and gave this option more thought. We were lucky enough to learn about and visit ABC Variety’s...
