We discovered City Treehouse after one of Dubbers’ private therapists suggested we join her and her daughter one particularly hot city-summer Saturday. Located in Chelsea, this adorable indoor play-space features a novel treehouse, large interactive water table and other rooms to explore and have fun. The space is very easy for children sensitive to over stimulation, as it provides just the right amount of activity without going overboard.
While reservations are required in advance, this is a good thing as they only allow 25 children in the play-space each hour to ensure a fun and safe experience. Infants and children up to eight years old is what they consider age-appropriate. They also offer classes and playgroups; however, we have only attended the open play. Play passes are $20/hr (first visit is only $10/hr) and you can buy play packs which slightly discount the rate. You can also check out Groupon for special discounts.
