A Little About Us

My name is Eve and “Dubbers” is my four year old son. Dubbers was born in New York City and has been raised here ever since. He is a very special little boy with some special needs. My husband and I were fortunate to learn of these needs at a very young age and therefore, able to begin early intervention as early as 9 months after he was born.

Over three years later, we find ourselves continually navigating this resourceful, yet extremely overwhelming, city and what it has to offer children like Dubbers.  From doctors, and therapists to special education attorneys and insurance gurus, there is just about everything available, except one thing…a simple place to find all this information together!

I decided to start this blog as a resource for families living in New York City and raising a child or children with special needs.  Life is tough as it is, raising a non-typical child, so I want to do what I can to ease the process as much as possible for others going through the same challenges.  I hope you will find this site helpful and I am open to comments and suggestions!
